Governor of Katsina State, Umar Dikko Radda has inaugurated a six-man committee to investigate the affairs of Katsina State Institute of Technology and management.
The committee was sworn in yesterday by the secretary to the state government (SSG), Gamba Faskari. He said the governor, after receiving petitions against the management of the institution, ordered for the set up of the committee to carry out a thorough investigation on the school.
Faskari said Alhaji Aliyu Danja Umar is to chair the committee with members including Barr. Abdulsalam Sani, Alhaji Bala Daudawa, Alhaji Haliru Liman, and Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammad Daku, while the secretary would come from the governor’s office.
Stressing the term of reference, the SSG said the committee is to examine the conduct of the institution and the rector; investigate the truth or otherwise of the allegation against the rector; to examine the academic financial and administrative performance of the institute; and to examine the affairs of the school.
He added that the committee has six weeks from the day of its inauguration to conclude the investigation and forward a report to the governor for necessary implementation.
Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Aliyu Danja Umar thanked the governor for finding them worthy of the task, assuring to be just in their investigation.
