Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda has warned newly registered members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to the state to steer clear of cultism, political activities, and religious intolerance throughout their service year.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, during the Batch A, Stream 1 orientation exercise, Governor Radda described the exercise as a significant milestone in the corps members’ national service journey.

He urged them to be guided by the motto of the scheme and to remain committed to the oath of allegiance they had sworn.

The governor assured them of a conducive environment throughout their orientation programme and encouraged them to make the most of the experience by actively participating in all camp activities.

Radda emphasised the importance of upholding the core values of the NYSC and viewing their service year as a mark of honour to the nation.

He further charged them to live up to the standard already set by their predecessors and see the exercise as a mark of honour and recognition to their fatherland.

“Distance yourselves from cultism, political involvement, religious intolerance, and all forms of social vices,” the governor advised, while officially declaring the orientation camp open.

At the ceremony, over 1,009 corps members took the oath of allegiance administered by the Katsina State Chief Judge, Justice Abubakar Musa Danladi.

In his address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Ibrahim Sa’idu, congratulated the corps members on their deployment to Katsina State, describing it as a recognition of their hard work, determination, and commitment to national development.

He expressed gratitude to the State Government for its continued support for the scheme and appealed for the provision of additional hostel facilities to enhance the comfort and welfare of corps members during their stay.
