Gov Sani Settles 347 Land Disputes In Kaduna, Says KADGIS

The Director General of Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, has disclosed that Governor Uba Sani settled 347 cases of farmland and plot revocation disputes amicably in the last 17 months of his administration.

In a statement issued by the Director General of Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), Dr Bashir Garba Ibrahim, Governor Sani provided the claimants with 203 alternative plots at the weekend.
Dr Ibrahim said that to prevent future disputes in the establishment of government layouts; the Governor Sani-led government has introduced a new framework for integrating existing settlements into the creation of new layouts.

The KADGIS Boss also noted that the governor had approved reducing penalties and regularisation charges to facilitate land ownership amid the current economic challenges.

He noted other actions of the Governor in response to the new economic realities, including a 15% discount on ground rent and use charges for early payment, instalment payment options for customers with high debt, and a 20% discount for advance payment for five years.

The statement added, “The Kaduna State Government is also digitalising and upgrading KADGIS activities to expedite the processing of titles, aiming to produce 200 certificates of occupancy every week.

“The Kaduna State government has settled over 347 cases of farmland disputes and plot revocations amicably, with 203 approved reinstatements and provision of alternative plots to claimants,” KADGIS said.
