Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has appointed Ibrahim Abubakar Dule as the substantive statistician-general in the state civil service.
He also approved the appointment of Zakari Isa Kwami as the substantive surveyor-general of the state.
The head of Civil Service, Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, who revealed the approval, said the appointments were made in line with Section 208(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to him, Dule earned his substantive appointment after serving in an acting capacity and posting what he described as commendable and results-driven performance.
Kwami, who had been serving in an acting capacity since late last year following the retirement of his predecessor, Zakari Abubakar Difa, was also confirmed after what the government described as a credible performance.
The governor’s spokesman, Ismaila Uba Misilli, added that the duo’s appointments take effect from 6 October 2025.
Governor Yahaya urged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them through professionalism, integrity and commitment to duty.
He said accurate data management, planning, and proper land administration remain critical to sustainable development in the state, urging officials to bring innovation, efficiency, and accountability to their offices.
