Gov. Yusuf, Northwest Govs. Join Remi Tinubu At NCFBP Launch In Hadejia

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, on Monday joined his counterparts from the North-West geopolitical zone in Hadejia, Jigawa State, for the official launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature,  on Tuesday, the event, which attracted governors, ministers, traditional rulers and other senior government officials, was aimed at strengthening efforts to combat food insecurity and improve nutrition among vulnerable households, particularly pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under the age of six.

Governor Yusuf described the initiative as a timely intervention that complements the efforts of state governments to tackle malnutrition and food insecurity across the country.

He reaffirmed the Kano State Government’s commitment to implementing policies and programmes that promote food security, improve healthcare delivery and enhance the welfare of the people, especially the most vulnerable communities.

The National Community Food Bank Programme, launched under the Renewed Hope Initiative, is designed to provide nutritious food through Primary Healthcare Centres to vulnerable groups as part of efforts to reduce child malnutrition and hunger nationwide.

Governors of Kebbi, Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, Kano and Jigawa were in present to receive the wife of the President Senator Oluremi Bola Tunubi in the historic state visit to Hadejia.
