Isa gave the breakdown of the beneficiaries as 17,535 from 48 universities, 1,805 from 22 colleges of education and 3,350 from polytechnics. Payment will also be made to the outstanding 5,274 University of Maiduguri students.

Engineering and medical university students will receive N50,000, while other students from other faculties will get N30,000. NCE, HND and ND students will receive N25,000, N20,000 and N12,000 respectively.

While expressing the governor’s goodwill message, Bala Isa told the students that the governor shares in the hardships they and their parents are undergoing as a result of the hike in the tuition fees in federal universities and called on them to use the fund judiciously.
