The Yobe State governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the creation of a Ministry of Livestock Development with immediate effect.
The approval for the creation of the new ministry was contained in a state issued by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Shuaibu Abdullahi.
To this end, the governor directed the SSG, the Head of Civil Service and Commissioner Ministry of Agriculture to work out the mandate of the new Ministry, office accommodation and deployment of staff to ensure immediate take-off of the new Ministry.
With the creation of the new ministry of Livestock Development, governor Buni has now created three full pledged Ministries in the past 6 years of his administration in the state.
The two other ministries are the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and the Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation.
Similarly, the governor has in the last six years succeeded in creating 13 agencies geared towards enhancing the living condition of the people across the state.
As one of states leading in livestock production, the creation of the new Ministry of Livestock Development underscores the governor Buni’s commitments to boosting the state’s economic potential for better progress.
