Governor of Gombe State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Bayelsa governorship election, Inuwa Yahaya, yesterday led a high powered team to a strategic engagement with Bayelsa APC stakeholders in Yenagoa.
The visit was aimed at igniting the spirit of party members and allaying their concerns on the recent court judgment which barred the party’s governorship candidate, Timipreye Sylva, from contesting the November 11 election.
The flag-off of the APC campaign was originally scheduled for today but was postponed by the national leadership of the party.
However, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who is spearheading the APC campaign in Bayelsa State, met with critical stakeholders in Yenagoa and left the supporters with encouraging words, urging them to stand firm and assured of the party’s unwavering support as they continue their journey towards November 11.
“We’ll emerge stronger from this temporary legal setback. Don’t slow down on the campaigns. Take the message to the nooks, crannies and the creeks. We are here to show solidarity with you and to assure you that we are resolute in our commitment to deliver Sylva. The president is with you in this journey, the national leadership of the party is with you, and all of us stand by you in this fight to deliver APC and Timipreye Sylva. We will triumph in Bayelsa on the 11th of November by the grace of God “.
The APC deputy national chairman South, Chief Emma Eneukwu, who represented the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, re-emphasised the party’s commitment to secure victory in Bayelsa.
Also speaking, the national vice chairman South South, Chief Victor Giadom, applauded Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s inspirational leadership, saying he is a man with remarkable track record and astute political acumen.
He described the Gombe governor as a performer and a seasoned leader in politics and governance who has the wherewithal to deliver on the task.
