Gombe State governor, Inuwa Yahaya, has released the sum of N693 million to the Gombe State Agency for Community and Social Development (CSDA) for the third batch of intervention to the beneficiaries of the Gombe State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (GO-CARES) programme.
The agency’s general manager, Haruna Ahmed Imam, disclosed this at the end of a training for community groups and project management committees and sub- committee heads on micro projects implementation across 77 additional communities.
He said the release of the funds by the state governor followed the successful implementation of projects executed by the CSDA under the GO-CARES programme in the previous batches.
Imam commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for supporting the community and social development projects saying Gombe State is performing greatly among other benefitting states.
He said the training was meant to enlighten benefitting communities on the concepts of project cycles, roles and responsibilities, sustainability and maintenance, community procurement, financial management and book keeping.
Imam urged the committees to maintain standard and ensure that they monitor the execution of the projects to completion and ensure sustainability with a view to justifying the funds disbursed by the government.
