Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has launched N18 billion electrification and road projects in the Kirikasamma local government area of the state.
The governor inaugurated the projects during the Government Citizens Engagement programme (Gwamnatin Da Jama’a) in the area.
He flagged off the construction of the 23.4-kilometer Tarabu–Matarar Alhazai–Malanta–Sawo–Iyo–Gishinawo–Gafta road. The project, awarded to Messrs Mothercat Nigeria Limited, costs ₦17.28 billion.
During the visit, Governor Namadi also commissioned a ₦426,129,228.69 power project connecting nine villages to the national grid. The beneficiaries are Tage, Ilallah, Siga, Garin Wakili, Fandunan, Gafta, Baturiya, Una, and Barmaguwa.
Speaking at the event, Governor Namadi stated that the projects are part of his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises.
He explained that the road construction aims to unlock the beneficiary communities by providing access to markets and other social, economic, and public services
“This is another milestone in our administration’s commitment to improving the living standards of rural dwellers through access to power and essential infrastructure across Jigawa State,” Governor Namadi stated.
