The Cross River State governor, Senator Bassey Otu on Tuesday, appointed Mr. Orok Bassey Okon as the new Head of Civil Service.
A statement on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Mr. Linus Obogu, said the appointment is effective from September 19, 2025.
Orok’s appointment followed the retirement of outgoing Head Of Service, Dr. Innocent Ebri Eteng.
Governor Otu, in the statement urged the new Head of Service to lead with vision, integrity and reform-driven zeal, fostering efficiency, professionalism, and accountability across the public service.
Otu stated that Orok’s appointment underscores his administration’s steadfast resolve to enthrone competent leadership and strengthen the machinery of governance for optimal service delivery to Cross River people.
