Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, has commended the recent appointment of new district heads in the Katsina Emirate, describing the move as a reaffirmation of the emirate’s commitment to traditional leadership grounded in integrity, honour and service.
The governor said the appointees have distinguished themselves as trusted sons of the emirate with a deep history of dedication to public service and community development.
In a statement from the Government House, signed by the chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, Governor Radda described the appointments as both symbolic and timely, especially when traditional institutions are increasingly recognised for their role in bridging the gap between modern governance and cultural preservation.
He said the new district heads represent a continuation of legacy and a call to greater responsibility in steering their communities toward peace, unity, and development.
The governor expressed gratitude to the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, for what he termed “a wise and visionary decision,” adding that the appointees’ track records are clear evidence of the Emirate’s thoughtful approach in choosing leaders who can serve with fairness and humility.
Governor Radda assured the new traditional leaders of his administration’s full support, urging them to lead with justice, wisdom, and compassion.
He emphasised that their roles remain central to the state’s development drive, calling on them to work closely with government structures to promote social harmony, security, and the welfare of their people.
On behalf of the government and people of Katsina State, the governor extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly installed district heads, expressing hope that their tenure would be marked by unity, prosperity, and sustained progress across their respective districts.
