Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to transform the state’s education sector, with plans to recruit more teachers to improve the quality of learning across public schools.

Soludo stated this  yesterday during the 50th anniversary celebration of Uga Boys Secondary School, his alma mater in Aguata local government area of the state.

The governor, who is a pioneer student of the school, recalled that he served as library prefect and later senior prefect before graduating in 1980.

He noted that the school, formerly known as Uga Secondary School, was one of only four secondary schools in the area at the time, adding that it played a critical role in shaping his educational foundation.

Soludo, however ,expressed gratitude to the school’s founders, teachers and the host community for their sacrifices and commitment to education.

He particularly praised his former teachers, describing them as dedicated, competent and professionals.

The governor assured that his administration would continue to provide a conducive learning environment.

“Education remains a top priority. Our vision is to revitalise public schools across the state, building on the enduring legacy of institutions such as Uga Boys Secondary School,” he said.

Earlier, the principal of the school, Mr Benjamin Igwema, commended the governor for his transformative interventions in the education sector.(NAN)

Igwema said recent reconstruction works had significantly improved the school’s learning environment, to the benefit of students.
