Gombe State governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has appointed Prof. Muazu Shehu as the state’s new head of Civil Service.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was conveyed by the secretary to the state government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, following the retirement of the former head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, upon attaining the mandatory 35 years of service.
The governor’s director-general on Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, in a statement yesterday, said until his new appointment, Shehu served as permanent secretary, General Duties, and principal private secretary (PPS) to the governor, where he distinguished himself through professionalism and strategic administration.
Yahaya urged the appointee to sustain and deepen the ongoing reforms in the state’s public service, while promoting professionalism, discipline, and innovation across MDAs.
The governor commended Abdullahi for his meritorious and impactful service to the state and wished him a peaceful and fulfilling retirement.
