The African Biblical Leadership Initiative (ABLI) is set to host its highly anticipated leadership conference in Nigeria, focusing on elevating excellence in service, facilitating productivity, and driving national growth and development.
The chairman of the National Planning Committee for the conference, Prof. Jerry Gana, disclosed this at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.
He noted that the ABLI Conference has previously been held in 10 different African countries, and this time Nigeria will host the 11th edition, themed ‘Value-Based Leadership: A Model for Africa’.
The conference will take place at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Conference Centre, Abuja, from October 21 to 24, starting at 9:00am daily.
Gana explained that the purpose of the pre-event press conference was to brief the media on the critical leadership issues that the forthcoming International Conference would address.
He expressed deep appreciation to the people of Nigeria, acknowledging the country’s role as host of this year’s event.
“We thank you immensely. It is an honour, on behalf of the National Planning Committee and our key sponsors, to address the good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the host of this year’s conference. We appreciate you tremendously,” he said.
Prof. Gana highlighted that ABLI was founded in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during a special session of the African Union (AU) prayer breakfast by African heads of state and governments in 2010.
He explained that ABLI aims to foster the qualitative transformation of nations through value-based leadership, informed and inspired by biblical values.
He added that the initiative also seeks to raise a generation of principled leaders with honour, integrity, capacity, and competence.
He emphasised that the ABLI Forum is non-political and non-denominational, focusing on driving personal and cultural transformation through leadership guided by biblical values.
The event, he said, aims to strengthen the connection between faith and leadership, highlighting values that promote integrity, service, and accountability.
“His Excellency, Chief Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, is the Chairman of the Conference, while Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, will be the Special Guest of Honour.
“Other distinguished guests include Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), Patron of the Bible Society of Nigeria; Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and Mr. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT, as the Host.
“Delegates from across Africa, Europe, America, and Asia are expected at the event, including General Secretaries and CEOs of all African Bible Societies,” he added.
