Graduation: Students Mark Milestone With Book Debut In Primeville

Members of the Creative Mind Club of Primeville Preparatory School, Ushafa, Abuja have unveiled their literary creation as the school held its graduation on Thursday.

The book titled; “Echoes of Muffled Thoughts,” an anthology compiled by the students features a collection of literary genres such as play, short stories, poems, and essays, reflecting issues in the society that bothered their hearts.

The graduation ceremony also witnessed award of scholarships to some students by the chairman of the occasion, while the director of the school, Ede Caleb made a significant announcement that students who had authored the book will receive a generous 20 percent discount on tuition fee in the coming session.
Caleb also advised the graduating students to remain focused in life wherever they found themselves.
According to him, the school is already in the global map having won several awards including Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) award and international awards with Commonwealth.
Adding, he said some of the students were also the finalists in the World Intellectual Property Organization Poetry Competition, while some recently won awards in Spelling Bee with African International Spelling Bee, amongst others.
He said; “Today we are marking the end of 2023/2024 academic session in Primeville preparatory school. We are also celebrating some of our students who have done well, especially those who have written a book titled: “The Echoes of Muffled Thoughts.”

“It’s about creativity. The students have been able to put many thoughts as pertaining to our country, the society and what is happening in the world at large.

“My advice to the graduating students is that they should ensure they are focused because this is just the beginning of part of their lives. They are going to meet some challenges as they further their studies. We are encouraging them to remain focused so that they will become something better in future.
“So we hope that we will do better in the next five years. Our students that wrote JAMB, majority of them scored 300 marks and above,” he said.

Also speaking, a Creative teacher, David Isaac, who compiled the stories said the school is already grooming the next stage of writers, noting that it is a progressive campaign that would be sustained.
“The book is a compilation of their creative works and it is a testament to the work we have been doing in this school. Not just that, the students have been under our tutelage to learn more from us.
“We try to gather their literally works and as a form of encouraging them to make sure that they have everything. This is not going to stop here”,he said.
