A non-governmental organisation, the People Petition Writers Association of Nigeria (P-PWAN) has cautioned the former vice president and the presidential candidate of the People’s Democrats Party in the last Presidential Election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on his continuous criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu adding that such criticism will not make the former vice president great.
P-PWAN president, Prince Elias Odoemena, in a statement made available to journalists said that Atiku is not saying anything new apart from what ordinary Nigerian citizens said before.
Prince Odoemena said that expirence is always what is left with a man when everything fails him, noting that Nigerians would like Atiku Abubakar as former vice president to exhibit wisdom when proffering suggestions that can help the current administration.
“People Petition Writers Association of Nigeria expects Atiku Abubakar to bring suggestions, and if President Tinubu refuses to use them, then we, in P-PWAN, can tell Nigerians that the President didn’t want to use Atiku’s good suggestions, which can move the nation forward instead of talking down on the government without proffering solutions from his side,” the statement added.
Prince Odoemena said that students of history knew that President Tinubu was once Atiku’s boss when he left People’s Democrats Party and Tinubu did not only offer him shelter in his political party then, but he also gave him presidential candidate in his Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
He disclosed that Atiku has direct access to President Tinubu, and if he truly loves this country, he should not be talking to him through empty press releases.
He said that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should accompany criticism with solutions because any criticism coming from a former vice president without a solution will automatically be an attack on the government.
