The Delta State governor, Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has been commended for engaging more youths in strategic appointments.

The chairman of the Isoko Ideological Class (IIC), a political pressure group, Prince Urigbezi Ufuoma, flanked by the group’s director-general, Mr Ugaga Oghene, and other members in Asaba, said the governor has delivered on his campaign promises and put naysayers to shame about his capability to govern the state.

The group maintained that since the state was created, no government has earned overwhelming acceptance among the youth wing of the state than the present administration in just two years of his administration.

Ufuoma, who doubles as the senior special assistant to the Governor on Community Development, said the governor made huge investments in road Infrastructure, health, and education.

On why the newly constituted group appraised the governor, it said the state government has repositioned the Ministry of Health in the state under Dr Joseph Onojaeme as Commissioner, to ameliorate the ‘japa’ syndrome, where health workers are leaving the country for better working conditions and pay.

While commending the governor for approving the replacement of doctors, nurses and other health workers who exited the system without undergoing the normal recruitment process, he said the group would garner support for the governor and President Bola Tinubu in 2027 for their return ticket.

“The newly acquired right numbers hemodialysis machines, 25 numbers Ultrasound Scanner, which are 4D User-Friendly and two numbers German-manufactured rugged CT Scan machine, eight Dialysis machines (three for Central Hospital in Warri, two for the state’s Teaching Hospital in Oghara, and three for Asaba Specialist Hospital), have boosted diagnosis and enhanced the treatment capabilities of health workers at government-owned health institutions.

“Delta is now one of the only three Nigerian states to have fully implemented the Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) payment. Each Resident Doctor gets N951,400 annually.” Ufuoma said.
