The Policy Advocacy and Integrity Network Nigeria, a prominent Civil Society Organisation (CSO), has discredited recent media reports claiming that Northern aspirants for the Senate Presidency have pulled out of the race. The group’s Executive Director, Josh Mesele, stated in a press release that the reports are completely false and misleading.

According to Mesele, the group is “amazed and taken aback” by the fake report published in one of the tabloids owned by a South-based aspirant. The group believes that the report is intended to mislead Nigerians and create a false sense of certainty about the outcome of the Senate Presidency race.

The statement further reveals that no aspirant from the North has withdrawn from the race. Instead, they are all actively campaigning, with Distinguished Senator Barau I Jibrin from the North West being the leading aspirant in the race. The group is urging all well-meaning Nigerians, especially Senators-elect, not to be deceived by this misleading report.

The Policy Advocacy and Integrity Network Nigeria is a respected CSO that promotes transparency, accountability, and integrity in governance. The group is known for its uncompromising stance against misinformation and propaganda in the Nigerian political landscape.

The group advises Nigerians to ignore any report that is not verified by credible sources. As the Senate Presidency race heats up, it is essential to remain vigilant and discerning about the information being disseminated in the media. The group assures Nigerians that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide accurate and reliable updates as events unfold
