Fulani residents in Uri, Kagarko, Kaduna State, have appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the reported killing of Fulani tribesmen in the area.
Halima Hussaini, a resident of Uri in Kagarko, serving as their spokesperson, stated in a release that the president, chief of defence staff and other security stakeholders need to address the escalating violence.
She decried the recent surge in unexplained killings and injuries, emphasising their right as Nigerians to protection.
Hassaini urged the National Assembly to call the military authorities to order and halt the distressing wave of violence that has left the community in pain and agony.
She said; “In recent times, many Fulani people in Uri were killed and many others injured for no reason. We are Nigerians and deserve to be protected and not killed.
“We, therefore, call on the National Assembly to call the military authorities to order to stop the mass killings.
“The Uri Fulani residents are nomads who go about their daily cattle-rearing activities without engaging in any banditry or criminality.”
