A non-Governmental organization, Ankpa Connect has launched the distribution of desks to five public schools in Ankpa’s local government area of Kogi State.

The schools that benefited include LGEA Primary School Ofugo, LGEA Primary School Ofejiji, LGEA Primary School Owelle, LGEA Primary School Ojoku, and Excellent Glory Science Academy Amoke.

The gesture said to be part of a class project titled, ‘Education for all, lending a helping hand to humanity,’ was meant to encourage students to lend a helping hand to humanity by identifying certain social situations and providing solutions to them.

The founder of Ankpa Connect, Yunusa Saidu Adams (MC wise) while launching the distribution in Ankpa, said expressed worries over the dilapidated state of the schools, noting that their plight left the organization with insomnia for days.

According to him, “I know Ankpa Connect has a lot to do but no one can sort the challenges at once, we are working based on our capabilities.

Speaking on behalf of the executive members, Fatima Zahra Muhammed and Muhammed Musa said “We will continue to give priority to those things which need our immediate attention and fall within our capability.

“We are very happy that some of the pupils who sit on the floor during lessons will no longer do so.

“Does it mean we have done everything, the answer is no since we have done this one, the next thing is to again look at what our resources can accommodate,” they said?

We are very happy and as well challenged by your determination and sacrifices for providing items that create conducive study environments for the vulnerable children in rural schools.

“I urge the school managements to maintain the items prudently and the hosts’ communities to also provide security against vandalism,” she said

Meanwhile, Director General of productivity, Kashim Akor, The Glory Land Polytechnic, and some community leaders in the Ankpa local government area also lauded Ankpa Connect for reaching out to the vulnerable in their communities and appealed to the state government and other concerned agencies to emulate the gesture.
