The Association of Professional Food Service Providers of Nigeria (APFSPN), has educated its members on need to focus on succession planning to guarantee business sustainability.
This was stated at the 2023 annual conference/induction of the association held in Lagos with the theme ‘Best Practice of Succession Planning for Food Service Providers’.
Speaking at the event, the chairperson of APFSPN, Monioluwa Osho said: “we are committed to safe food practices as it forms part of the Association’s core training to have Food Safety Training Levels at different levels and HACCP.”
She noted that, the group’s mission is to bring inclusiveness, achieve excellence in a unifying way, having an association that represent professionalism and one voice and also to bring members together and have a positive impact on our clients, its team and environment.
“This year, 2023, we are focusing on succession planning, which is a strategy on its own with the sole aim of passing leadership roles down to employees or generations after. It is very key to our business as so many businesses are going into extinction because of zero strategy for succession planning.
“We are using this conference to share experiences, understand problems and identify solutions. This conference is an opportunity to create strong networks within and without,” she stressed.
The founder of Wine & Gold Catering, Mrs Deola Fadaze, said: ‘we need to run our business in a good corporate manner. Keep records, pay tax among others.’
She called for collaboration among stakeholders in the sector, saying, “partnership is very important is growing business, this is what Nigerians do not like to hear. Instead of the company closing up or remain small, why can’t two or three caterers come together and build a strong business outfit.”
The Association of Professional Food Service Providers of Nigeria (APFSPN) is an association with the sole vision of impacting on her people, the government and the environment at large, whose core values are inclusiveness, professionalism, dedication to culinary arts and community involvements, to mention but a few.
