A group, Polivox in Advocacy for Principled Leadership, has thrown its weight behind Dr Famous Sayerigha Esedowu, for the position of deputy governor of Bayelsa State.

A statement issued yesterday by the public relations officer of Polivox in Advocacy for Principled Leadership, Mr. Werenipre Johnson Ebikeme, said Dr Esedowu has a long-standing commitment to public service, possesses a rare blend of grassroots understanding, federal exposure, academic depth, and administrative capacity required to support effective governance in the state.

According to Ebikeme, Dr. Esedowu is “not a candidate of convenience, but of capability,” describing him as a leader prepared by life, tested by service, and devoted to progress.

He said Dr. Esedowu’s legacy of service is entering what he described as its most consequential chapter, as Bayelsa looks toward leadership that can guarantee continuity, competence, and confidence in governance.

Ebikeme noted that the Bayelsa State Governor requires a deputy who is loyal, intellectually sound, energetic, and capable of complementing the administration’s vision for a prosperous and united state.

“Dr. Esedowu is a unifying figure whose credibility transcends political and social divides, and whose humility commands respect across the state,” he said.

He added that Dr. Esedowu’s leadership credentials were built over decades of dedication to public good, integrity, and visionary thinking, describing his career as one marked by sacrifice and guided by knowledge.

“His is a story written in the ink of sacrifice and illuminated by the lamp of knowledge – a story that now calls Bayelsa to a moment of historic choice,” the statement read.

Ebikeme called on traditional rulers, elders, women, youths, and other critical stakeholders in the state to support Dr. Esedowu, describing him as a servant-leader whose life’s work has focused on uplifting people, creating opportunities, and building strong institutions.

He urged Bayelsans to seize the opportunity to support a Deputy Governor who embodies the best of Bayelsa’s past, the diligence of its present, and the promise of its future.

“Let us rally behind Dr. Famous Sayerigha Esedowu for stability, equity, excellence, and the collective interest of the Bayelsa State we all cherish,” he concluded.
