The Northern Minority Alliance for Balanced Leadership (NOMAL) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election to continue with his Renewed Hope Agenda and to reposition Nigeria to become a prime global investment destination.

The members also distanced themselves from what it termed anti-Tinubu northern agenda being canvassed by some politicians from the region.

NOMAL is a coalition of ethnic minorities from the northern states interested in fronting for minority interests in Nigeria with the vision to be a leading platform for northern Nigeria’s minority groups.

The conveners of the group, Hon. Markus Makama and Mr. Jonah Bonet while addressing journalists in Jos after a two-day meeting with the theme; “Unity In Nigeria Diversity: Advancing Inclusive Governance and Leadership for Prosperous Nigeria,” said all hands must be on deck to return the incumbent president to power in 2027.

According to them, in the 2023 presidential election, the Northern Ethnic Minorities voted Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, but this time around they would vote for President Tinubu because he has demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to inclusive governance, particularly by appointing northern ethnic minorities in sensitive positions.

According to them the impact of the president’s policy on northern minorities can be felt and seen particularly the federal government’s approval of $1.1 billion to dualise the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe road, a critical economic artery that had been neglected for decades and many others.
