A social political group, Citizens Action for Good Governance (CAGG) has praised the Directorate of State Service (DSS) for upholding professionalism and securing the country from democratic forces.

CAGG said the Yusuf Magaji Bichi-led DSS has secretly chased away persons who have conspired to tear the country apart for their selfish ambitions.

The group also called on Nigerians to support the DSS and expose whatever plans of evil persons who want to see Nigerians die and suffer the collapse of the country.

“We hail the director-general for unprecedented achievements. We sincerely appreciate your gallantry, brave professionalism and achievements. We are bold to throw our weight solidly behind the DSS to continue this great work while we sleep in our comfort zone as they are not sleeping to keep us safe,” its national coordinator, Nazir Galadanci.

The group believes that under the ‘renewed hope’ driven by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the professionalism and performance of security agencies would be massively boosted to rid the current spate of killings and other criminal activities.

It also implored other security agencies to collaborate and synergise with one another to fight the common enemy that wants to set the country in flames. “And we also commend all security agencies for their efforts to ensure the country remains united and free from insurgents, bandits, kidnappers; separatists, and all criminals,” Galadanci said.

It urged Tinubu to provide the nest of welfare to personnel of security agencies for optimal performance, which he had promised, saying it is waiting for it to be a reality.

“We want to also point out that security remains every Nigeria’s assignment, make sure you secure yourself first and cooperate with security agencies for better security cover,” Galadanchi said during a press conference in Abuja at the weekend.

The group cautioned the “certain vested interests and rag-tagged faceless cohorts who are desperately working towards destabilizing the Nigerian state by way of stoking the embers of national crisis.

It is worthy of note that the DSS has been awakened to its responsibilities by issuing security alerts by deploying intelligence to unravel and uncover the plots of Sponsors of terrorists, activities of bandits, separatists, and others.

According to the group, since Bichi took over the leadership of the DSS a lot has been achieved positively because of the proactive and professional approach the service has demonstrated in discharging its constitutional duties.

“The agency, had nipped lots of crisis prone situations in the bud, due to the proactiveness and high level of professionalism of the present crop of the officers and men, that are housed within the formation Bichi remains a true and patriotic Nigerian who stood on the side of Nigerians and democracy when some Nigerians could not stick their necks out to safeguard this hard earned democracy we are enjoying at this moment.

“He led his officers and men to expose the ungodly moves by terrible and horrible hearted Nigerians who wanted to throw the nation into unnecessary Civil War, hence we are giving him and the DSS this high recognition and commendation for walking the talk after uncovering moves by some evil minded individuals and groups willing to truncate democracy and the 2023 general elections,” Galadanchi said during the media briefing.
