A political pressure group under the aegis of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Independent Campaign Group (PBAT ICG) has applauded the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her unwavering commitment to humanitarian services, national growth and human capital development through her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

The national convener of Grassroots Women Connect Summit, Dr Seyi Bamigbade, who gave the commendation in a statement signed by the media and Publicity Directorate of PBAT ICG, said the First Lady has continuously demonstrated exceptional philanthropy, aligning seamlessly with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Addressing the delegates at the summit, Bamigbade noted that by marking three years of transformative impact across the country, the president’s wife’s social investment and welfare programmes have systematically uplifted thousands of vulnerable Nigerians, reinforcing her legacy as a lifelong champion for the less privileged.

He said, “There is a legacy of inclusive philanthropy. Since its inception, the Renewed Hope Initiative has mobilised critical resources to bridge economic gaps and foster self-reliance.

The group highlighted several of her core philanthropic achievements, sharing these milestones directly with the grassroots leaders present.

They listed her empowerment initiative to include Economic Empowerment and Small Business Support, saying,” RHI recently partnered with the Tony Elumelu Foundation to distribute ₦50,000 economic grants to 18,500 women traders nationwide to recapitalise their businesses. In the Federal Capital Territory alone, the initiative has directly empowered over 27,000 residents.

“Healthcare Interventions: The First Lady has deployed over ₦2 billion for tuberculosis treatments, ₦1 billion for breast cancer advocacy, and ₦500 million for food and nutrition initiatives, making healthcare accessible to the most vulnerable citizens.

“Digital Literacy and Skill Acquisition: Bridging the digital divide, Her Excellency has commissioned state-of-the-art ICT Experience Centres across multiple states, including Ekiti and Yobe, equipping young Nigerians and women with the tools needed for the global tech economy.

“Elderly and Disability Support: Through the “Finding Joy in Old Age” scheme, RHI has provided substantial livelihood grants and food outreach to thousands of senior citizens, military veterans, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) nationwide.
