The Democratic Patriots of Africa (DPA) has hailed the sweeping reforms in Nigeria’s Ministry of Interior under Hon. Olumbuni unmi Tunji-Ojo, passing a resounding vote of confidence in his leadership.

The country representative of DPA, Ayobami Adeyemi, during a press conference in Abuja yesterday, said the minister has redefined public service in Nigeria with results-driven reforms, particularly in passport processing.

“Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a visionary, an astute reformer, and a thoroughbred administrator who has redefined public service in Nigeria. Through innovation, diligence, and an unyielding commitment to excellence, he has demonstrated that leadership is about results, not rhetoric.”

The group noted that passport processing, which was once fraught with bottlenecks and delays, has now been transformed. “Passport processing timelines have been drastically reduced, bottlenecks removed, and digital solutions introduced to improve accessibility and restore public trust in government institutions,” Adeyemi said.

DPA also highlighted the minister’s impact across all parastatals under the ministry. “The Nigeria Immigration Service has been overhauled with innovative technologies that modernised passport issuance and enhanced border security.

“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has been strengthened to boost internal security and rapid response to threats. The Correctional Service is witnessing humane reforms and modernisation, while the Federal Fire Service has been equipped with modern tools to protect lives and property,” Adeyemi stated.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for entrusting such a sensitive ministry to a capable hand. “We must appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his foresight in appointing Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo. By entrusting such a critical ministry to a passionate and capable reformer, the President has once again shown his commitment to meritocracy and good governance,” he said.

Declaring the group’s full support, Adeyemi stressed that the minister’s achievements reflect the Renewed Hope Agenda in action. “Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has proven himself to be a true servant leader, one who embodies the ideals of patriotism, innovation, and excellence. His achievements are not just administrative milestones; they are a reflection of the Renewed Hope vision, translated into practical realities that touch lives daily.”
