A socio-political group from Imo State, Eastern Conscience, has applauded President Bola Tinubu, for the appointment of two notable sons of Imo State, Dr. Clifford Ogbede and Dr. Ifeanyi Agwu, into the SEDC Board.
In a press statement yesterday, the Convener of the group, Evang. Mike Ikoku expressed deep appreciation to Mr. President for coming to the rescue of the South East region which has suffered untold marginalization since after the Nigerian civil war.
The group commended the President for the establishment of the Commission and nomination of Ogbede and Agwu to the Board.
The statement reads, “On behalf of the good people of Imo State and the people of South East Nigeria at large, we heartily appreciate President Tinubu for setting up the commission and the appointment of worthy sons of Igboland and Imo in particular into the Board of the Commission, in the persons of Dr. Cliff Ogbede from Ngor Okpala and Dr. Ifeanyi Agwu, from Ehime Mbano as members of the pioneer Board of this all-important developmental agency.
“We note that it is not a mere coincidence that this is happening in your time, but a testament to your goodwill and commitment to the revamping of the infrastructure in the South East that were destroyed during the war.”
On behalf of the people of Imo State, the group pledged unalloyed support and loyalty to the President and assured him that the two nominees from Imo State would justify the confidence reposed in them”.
