The Think Cross River Team, led by its Convener, Papa Dorncklaimz Enamhe, has paid a solidarity visit to the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Hon. Dr Emmanuel Ironbar, during which the group formally announced his appointment as the Chief Convener of the Think Cross River initiative.

The delegation included the team’s co-conveners, Engr. Dr Jerome Egbe, Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba and Barrister Gilbert Agbor, alongside other members. According to the group, the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the state government and reaffirming its commitment to promoting ideas and actions that place Cross River State first.

Speaking during the visit, Papa Dorncklaimz Enamhe commended the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Edet Otu, for what he described as the administration’s consistent and deliberate efforts to recover the state’s oil wells, protect its economic interests and pursue policies that prioritise the welfare of the people. He noted that the Governor’s leadership reflects a clear resolve to “think Cross River” in governance and decision-making.

Enamhe further praised the Otu administration for its people-centred approach to governance, highlighting key achievements under the People First Agenda. These, he said, include a renewed focus on infrastructure development across both urban and rural communities, improved workers’ welfare through regular salary payments, strategic investments in security to safeguard lives and property, and initiatives aimed at revitalising the state’s economy and restoring public confidence in government.

The group also commended the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, sustained engagement with stakeholders, youth empowerment initiatives, and ongoing efforts to reposition Cross River State as an attractive destination for investment, tourism and sustainable development.

In his response, Hon. Dr Emmanuel Ironbar expressed appreciation for the visit and the confidence reposed in him, describing the Think Cross River platform as a timely and strategic initiative that aligns with Governor Otu’s vision for the state. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transparent, accountable and people-focused governance.

The Think Cross River Team used the occasion to call on all Cross Riverians, both at home and in the diaspora, to rally behind Governor Otu and support his selfless efforts to reposition the state. According to the group, collective support and shared responsibility remain critical to achieving lasting development and securing a prosperous future for Cross River State.

It was gathered that the team recently held its congress over the weekend in Calabar, which was attended by some former and serving student union leaders. Another congress is expected to hold soon, with the date to be announced.
