The City Boy Movement (CBM) has announced a strategic partnership with the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PiCNG) to accelerate inclusive, grassroots-focused development in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

This was disclosed by the Director-General of CBM, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman/CEO of PiCNG, Ismaeel Ahmed, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Shoga noted that the collaboration aligns directly with the mandate of the City Boy Movement, which includes mobilising citizens at the grassroots, promoting government policies, empowering communities economically, fostering national unity, and driving sustainable development initiatives across all 36 states and the FCT.

He stated that the PiCNG programme is a transformative national instrument with the potential to reduce unemployment, stimulate economic growth, and advance environmental sustainability.

“The PiCNG initiative, rooted in the Renewed Hope Agenda, promotes the widespread adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), saves costs, creates jobs, and encourages environmental sustainability,” Shoga said.
“It supports national priorities on sustainable transport, emission reduction, gas-flaring mitigation, and broad-based economic growth.”

He added that CBM’s role in the partnership is to drive a bottom-up adoption strategy, ensuring that CNG-related opportunities, training, and infrastructure reach communities nationwide—urban and rural alike.

In his response, PiCNG CEO Ismaeel Ahmed expressed the organisation’s readiness to collaborate closely with the City Boy Movement, describing the partnership as a vital link between federal initiatives and local communities.

Ahmed emphasized that joint efforts between PiCNG and CBM will strengthen public awareness, grassroots mobilisation, and nationwide education on the economic and environmental benefits of CNG, ensuring that Nigerians can fully participate in and benefit from the country’s emerging gas-powered economy.
