The Tinubu National Solidarity Movement (TNSM) has passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, applauding the quality of leadership and economic reforms delivered in just two years.

In an exclusive interview with TNSM national chairman Mohammed Sani Akwashiki in Abuja yesterday, he said the group decided to recognise the president’s capacity, courage, and doggedness in delivering renewed hope reforms to all Nigerians.

Akwashiki stressed that the North fully supports President Tinubu’s agenda: “The North is not against Bola Ahmed Tinubu. What he is doing is changing the lifestyle of ordinary Northern Nigerians. Those who criticise are driven by personal interests.”

Describing Tinubu’s emergence as a divine intervention, he added, “Nigeria is no one man’s creation. God designed this nation to change its narrative.” Reflecting on the country’s past, he noted, “Historically, yesterday has always seemed better than today. But God has decided to change Nigeria’s destiny through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

He praised the president for making tough decisions that previous administrations shied away from: “This is the kind of leadership we need—someone with the courage to make bold decisions, determined to fix and reposition Nigeria.”

Using a vivid metaphor, Akwashiki said, “You can only stone a tree that bears fruit, because you want to eat from it. President Tinubu carries fruit—his reforms are bearing results.”

Akwashiki also quoted the president’s analogy: “Our current situation is like a nine-month pregnancy. There’s discomfort before the joy of new life.” He urged citizens to continue supporting the “Renewed Hope” agenda and to celebrate the administration’s upcoming second anniversary.

TNSM has mobilised coordinators across all six geopolitical zones, who are concerned Nigerians rather than any special interest group members. “We listened to Nigerians who had lost confidence in the political class. We found that Tinubu’s decisive actions marked him as different—and the remedy our nation needs,” he said.

Recalling the challenges of the previous eight-year administration, Akwashiki highlighted the crisis faced by farmers under President Buhari: killer bandits, destroyed crops, and restricted farming. “What happened from 2015 to 2023 was agony. We must recognise the past to appreciate our progress,” he said.

He denounced recent protests and strikes against the removal of fuel subsidies as misguided, noting even military governments found subsidy reform difficult. “If a president is courageous enough to remove subsidies, why protest?”

Akwashiki called on the National Assembly to promptly approve the ongoing tax reform bills, pointing out injustices in the current tax system. He also praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for delivering visible development projects in Abuja. “Even his critics must admit Wike is rebuilding the capital,” he said.

Akwashiki urged President Tinubu to remain focused on governance rather than politics. “This is the time for service delivery, not politicking or coalition-building. Let’s use this leadership to fix Nigeria.”
