The leader of the group, Comrade Emmanuel Deinma, who stated this during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, assured that Dr Halimat Tejuosho’s would be a round peg in a round hole in President Tinubu’s cabinet given her track of record of competence and humanitarian gestures.

Comrade Deinma further disclosed that the group’s endorsement of Tejuosho was in line with the synergy required for stregthning of multicultural and multiethnic bond in Nigeria.

While facilitating with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the IYC further appreciated the President for stabilising the country, especially the inclusion of Ijaw people in governance.

“We the Leadership of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Abuja cum Northern Nigeria Chapter led by Comrade Emmanuel Deinma has found Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho to be reliable, competent and trustworthy as such has gained our support which has caused us to wholeheatedly endorse her nomination/recommendation as the Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation.

“This is in furtherance to the nomination/recommendation of Dr. Halimat to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu by the Leadership of the Southwest Youth Parliament (SWYP) as well as the Igbo Youths Assembly (IYA) and several other civil organizations and societies across Nigeria which took the progressive and reformist pedigree of the Nominee into sincere consideration hence, the assurance that she will bring the needed expertise to effectively manage and reposition Ministry in order to effectively discharge it’ humanitarian duties to Nigerians and elevate as many Nigerians as possible above the poverty line so as to reduce the poverty index in Nigeria.

“Our endorsement is in line with the co-operational synergy needed to strengthen the bonds of a multicultural and multiethnic Nigeria wherefore we embrace the practice of giving support to those who can do the job irrespective of our ethnic divide as such we tow the lines of our diversity being our strength rather than our weakness in order for a modern Nigeria of our dream to thrive for the general development of all sectors of our dear country. This patriotism towards a detribalised Nigerian whom we know will add value to the President Tinubu’s administration presupposes that with the likes of Dr Halimat, we can get it right.

“Therefore, we ask President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to consider and appoint Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho as the Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation so that with her wealth of experience, will respond to the humanitarian needs of the citizenry of the Nigerian State and to alleviate poverty wherever it rears its head which what she is good at. Taking the antecedents of Dr. Halimat into consideration of which through her Foundation has relieved the sufferings of those in IDP Camps filled with less privileged persons in our society,” Deinma stated.
