The Mid-Westerners, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has urged governor-elect of Delta State, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to increase the retirement age of civil servants in the state to 65 years.
The group, which is currently monitoring and evaluating the business of good governance in the defunct Bendel: Delta and Edo states, maintained that the incoming administration should follow the footprints of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in road construction and consolidate on his human capital development.
Chairman of the group, Iwemdi Nwaham supported by the deputy, Prof David Ejenobo, secretary, Hon Fidelis Chimokwu and Kenneth Okwuenu, said in Asaba that the government should extend it to civil servants in the state in conformity with what the outgoing administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has done at the federal level.
While expecting the incoming administration to give publicity a serious priority in order to showcase its achievements, he said the giant strides of the Okowa administration were not adequately celebrated.
Scoring Okowa high in project execution, he said his achievements should be a stroll in the park for him and development targets for Oborevwori.
