Northern Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA), has appealed to Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, who represents the Borno South Senatorial District, to focus on addressing the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency in his constituency and promoting good governance in the country.

The groups stressed the need for Senator Ndume to avoid distracting the diligent efforts of the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is determined to resolve the nation’s challenges and ensure its proper functioning.

In a statement issued by Mallam Ibrahim Dan-Musa, the spokesperson for NEYGA, the group highlighted Senator Ndume’s extensive tenure in the National Assembly, spanning over two decades.

Despite this, the Boko Haram insurgency continues to afflict his district, with substantial resources being allocated to combat the terrorists without significant success.

NEYGA expressed concern that the senator has not done enough to alleviate the suffering of his constituents.

NEYGA urged Senator Ndume to collaborate with his constituents in finding a lasting solution to the insurgency, rather than engaging in political grandstanding with his associates that distract President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which is dedicated to fixing Nigeria. The group reminded Senator Ndume of his previous experiences in the Senate, including his suspension and removal as Senate Leader. It encouraged him to utilise his influence to bring peace in his constituency and the entire country, given his status as a distinguished senator of the Federal Republic.

NEYGA said Ndume should prioritise the security and welfare of his people over engaging in political activities that do not benefit his constituents or the nation as a whole.
