The Security and Economic Development Focus Group has urged Nigerians to continue to appreciate troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their sacrifices in keeping the country safe.

The group made the call during solidarity rallies in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, yesterday. The rally took the group to Kurudu, Orozo and Nyanya.

In his speech, the group’s convener, Salihu Adamu, urged residents of the FCT to support the AFN and keep the nation’s capital safe.

He said the military has ensured the security of FCT, working with other security agencies.

Adamu said, “We must support our troops under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Chris Musa.

“You will agree with me that the FCT is a safe place to dwell and pursue your various means of livelihood.

“Our troops are making sacrifices that some of us cannot make. Some are in the bushes for months without seeing their families, etc. But you are here.

“We must not join people who have decided to make themselves the enemy of the country. They want us to be in fear all the time.
