Intertribal groups in Niger State have promised to always reciprocate the sacrifices of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for the actualisation of the “New Niger Agenda”.
The groups are not indigenous people of Niger State but live in the state to work or do business.
The secretary of the groups, Chief Casmiar Obialom, who spoke on their behalf, stated that the governor’s commitment to the development of the state, peacebuilding, and crime prevention initiatives are practical steps of ensuring the general wellbeing of the people.
Obialom, who was also appointed as coordinator of political mobilisation in the Office of the Governor, said the coming of Governor Bago had no doubt shown a difference.
He said the intertribal groups in the state under the leadership of George Dike, special adviser, will continue to support all his efforts to improve the wellbeing of the people.
He said it was in recognition of Governor Bago’s developmental giant stride in the state that, the intertribal groups in the state set aside Thursday and Friday as part of democracy celebration at the Justice Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre Minna.
He said part of the activities lined up is the award of the grand pillar of peace to Bago who will also be the special guest of honour, while Col Sani Bello (rtd) will receive the award for outstanding personality on peace, unity, security, and entrepreneurship.
