Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Priest In Abia

Suspected gunmen have kidnapped Rev. Fr. Christopher Ogide, an associate Pastor of Maria Assumpta Parish of Umuopara, Umuahia Diocese in Abia State.

 

In a statement released by the Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Henry Maduka, the incident occurred on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the entrance gate of the Parish house while Fr. Ogide was driving out to buy fuel.

 

The Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Most Rev. Michael Kalu Ukpong, called on the faithful of the Diocese to be prayerful and remain calm following the kidnap of the Priest.
