Gunmen suspected to be bandits attack Tursa village in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State, in the early hours of Tuesday.
Reports however indicated that one person was killed and six others were abducted and whisked away by the attackers.
When contacted, Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, confirmed the attack and abduction of the villagers.
ASP Rufa’i, who also confirmed that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, further explained that, “the assailants entered the village, set ablaze a room and claimed the life of one person.
“Two motorcycles were also burnt during the attack, and six individuals were abducted, with an undisclosed number of cows rustled,” he added.
The spokesman assured that the State Commissioner of Police, Ali Kaigama, has ordered a manhunt for the suspected criminals
