Two staff of Berom Educational and Cultural Organisation Comprehensive School have been killed by suspected armed men who forced their way into the school premises to graze with cattle in Kwi Riyom local government area of Plateau State.

Dalyop Solomon Nwantiri of the Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria who confirmed the killing to LEADERSHIP said the armed suspected Fulani men also carried out an attack on Fass community, adding that three other people sustained gunshot wounds in the process.

According to him, before the killing of BECO staff in Kwi, information had reached them that some Fulani militias from Fass, Guava and Mahanga were planning to launch an attack on some farms in Jol, Tashek and Wereng all in Riyom LGA.

He appealed to security operatives to live up to their responsibility of protecting lives and property. He stressed that if the trend continues unchecked, it means there will be food insecurity in the state by next year because thousands of acres of maize and rice farms have been destroyed by the attackers.
