Gunmen Kill 2, Injure Others In Plateau Attack

Suspected gunmen have killed two persons and injured two others during an attack on Gassa community in Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau State on Saturday night.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the attackers stormed the community at about 11 p.m., shooting sporadically and causing panic among the residents.

A resident of the area, Albert Bature, who confirmed the incident, lamented that the attack had thrown the community into mourning.

Bature said,  “The gunmen invaded the community at about 11 p.m. on Saturday and started shooting at everything in sight. Two persons were killed while two others sustained injuries.

“The incident has left our people in grief and fear,” he said.

The national publicity secretary of Berom Youth Moulders Association, Rwang Tengwong, who also confirmed the incident, expressed concern over the recurring attacks in the area.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect life and property in the community and its environs.

At the time of filing this report,  the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command SP Alfred Alabo,  could not be reached for the official position.
