An eyewitness from the community told newsmen that the gunmen, alleged to be kidnappers attacked the victim’s house around 9pm on Sunday night just as the occupants of the house were about to sleep.

A resident of Bokkos, Bishop Ayuba Matawal, who also confirmed the incident said the two women were earlier kidnapped but were rescued by local vigilante and youths in the area.

“Yes, the incident happened. They shot the Reverend Fr. The two women in the house – his wife and a visitor were kidnapped, but later rescued by residents of the area who mobilised to trail the assailants,” Matawal said.
