The Chairman Niger State Development Commission, Dr Shuaibu Gwada, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to establish a presidential liaison bureau across the 36 states of the federation.
Dr Gwada who is a APC stakeholder in Niger made this appeal in an open letter to the President on Sunday, June 4.
He revealed that the initiative offered the president a lighter work schedule, giving him the leverage for swift action (through the PBC) on matters requiring presidential attention from the states.
Gwada said: “Nigerians will be glad if the points mentioned above are put in place within the first 90 days instead of the usual 100 days threshold by past regimes.
“The advantage of the 90-day “report card” is another way of meeting set targets for completing yearly government projects ahead of schedule by (at least) 40 days.”
During his two-term stint, he also lauded President Tinubu for his landmark achievement as Lagos state governor.
Gwada urged President Tinubu to hit the ground running and replicate his giant stride in Lagos at the federal level.
He said: “The capital projects that were executed when you were Governor of Lagos State “with an ordinary key” can be replicated on a larger scale across the country NOW that you hold the master key as the C-in-C.
“If the master critical ideology is imbibed at the federal level, state governors and LG chairmen will emulate for want of being on the same page with the Tinubu phenomenon.
“Public & private sector operators that are yearning for good governance will as well tag-on to the new regime values.”
He further stated that President Bola Tinubu must not fail to apply is trademark principle of friendliness, fairness and firmness in achieving success in his first stint as President.
He said: “Tinubu must not fail his countrymen and women who have been following him from pre-NADECO days in his long walk to the presidency and now he has arrived. By his arrival, Tinubu has redefined patience as a vital ingredient of life thus; “PATIENCE IS NOT ABOUT HOW LONG YOU WAIT BUT HOW WELL YOU BEHAVE WHILE WAITING”…
“May I then draw Asiwaju’s attention again to another fact that the 4-year mandate that he obtained from the March 25th election is a kind of “sentence” that goes with HARD LABOUR because the job is tedious, tireless and often thankless? However, I know for certain that President Tinubu’s quest for a new Nigeria is NOT negotiable.”
Gwada also urged Nigerians to pray for his success and steadfastness as he executes his leadership duties as Nigeria’s leader.
He reiterated his ground-breaking achievement with Lagos state while listing milestone projects like “the Eko Atlantic city, Lagos blue railway, uncommon IGR initiative, Lekki housing estate -phase 1, 2 & 3, Local Council Area development approach, mentorship across region & religion” as one of his best legacy as a political titan.
He also lauded Mr Tinubu for introducing the first-ever Treasury Single Account, Independent Power Project, Review of Lagos Judicial officers emoluments and a host of other notable achievements.
Gwada expressed optimism that Nigerians would soon start to enjoy the dividend of Tinubu’s brilliance and mastery of governance.
He revealed that Tinubu’s emergence as President was God’s divine work as he urged him to add prayers to his daily recipe as he leads and stir the ship of Nigeria’s leadership.
