Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has reaffirmed the Gwagware Foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of countless individuals through its numerous humanitarian initiatives.
Speaking at the foundation’s 9th-anniversary celebration and the commissioning of a new conference hall named after Barebari Radda, Governor Radda emphasised the foundation’s dedication to uplifting society’s most vulnerable members.
“The Gwagware Foundation has been a beacon of hope, providing essential support to orphans, assisting students with educational needs, and empowering disadvantaged community members,” the governor stated.
Governor Radda highlighted the foundation’s impact in addressing critical social challenges, including sponsoring children’s education, empowering women entrepreneurs, and implementing various community welfare programs.
He also acknowledged the support from individuals, organisations, and government bodies, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a testament to the foundation’s significant contribution to national development.
“We pray that God continues to provide the means and resources to sustain these efforts, ensuring that those who need assistance receive it without hindrance,” he added.
The governor urged the foundation’s leadership to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service, reminding them that leadership is a sacred trust.
Former Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, also praised Governor Radda and the Foundation for unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Katsina State residents.
They lauded the Foundation’s efforts in supporting the less privileged and commended the governor’s continued commitment to humanitarian causes.
The chairman of the Gwagware Foundation, Alhaji Yusuf Aliyu, provided an overview of the foundation’s achievements, highlighting key projects that have transformed many lives.
“The foundation has introduced ten new projects focusing on training, vocational education, and various empowerment programs designed to uplift our people,” he said.
He further noted that the foundation has remained steadfast in its mission to support students through school establishment and educational initiatives over the past nine years.
“In the past year alone, we successfully executed 77 programs and directly supported 48,000 individuals through various livelihood interventions,” he disclosed.
“We have completed the construction of 44 boreholes one in each local government area. With additional contributions from local government authorities, the total number now stands at 46 functional boreholes across the state,” he revealed.
The foundation has also set an ambitious target for the coming year: It aims to provide educational support to 2,000 out-of-school children while expanding its community development programs.
Several dignitaries graced the event, including Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, Chief of Staff to the Governor Alhaji AbdulKadir Mamman Nasir, Principal Private Secretary to the Governor Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, and Board Member of the Northwest Development Commission Shamsu Sule.
