Gwoza IDP Kills Wife In Adamawa

An internally displaced person (IDP) from Gwoza in Borna State has killed his wife Hajara Sa’adu in Adamawa State.

The suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar, a butcher and resident of Sabon Gari-Futy stabbed her severally with a sharp knife on her back which caused her death.

The suspect killed the deceased on Monday at about 4:30 am after he accused her of taking away his phone which led to a minor argument.

The suspect was apprehended following the report made to the police by the father of the deceased and preliminary investigation conducted leading to the recovery of material evidence at the scene of the crime which was linked to him.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the couple have been having running battles, which the Muslim Council of Girei local government area had attempted to resolve.

The suspect voluntarily made a confessional statement, adding that that he regretted killing the mother of their only child.
