As the 2024 hajj season draws closer, the Abuja zone of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators in Nigeria (AHUON) has elected new executive members that will steer the affairs of the association in the next two years.
Alhaji Usman Ambursa of Travel Express Abuja emerged as the new Abuja zonal chairman, Mansur Isah and Tijjani Bala Garo were elected as secretary and treasurer respectively.
Also elected as members of the zonal executive committee are Habiba Rabiu Dabo, welfare and organizing secretary and Adamu Hassan Abdullahi as public relations officer.
Accordingly, Alhaji Ikrimah Muhammed was elected deputy president Hajj, while Tijjani Uba Waru and Alhaji Muhammed Salau were elected national welfare secretary and national legal adviser respectively.
In his acceptance speech, the chairman Abuja Zone, Alhaji Usman Ambursa thanked members for the understanding and peaceful conduct of the elections and assured them purposeful leadership.
“The welfare of our customers who are intending pilgrims is of paramount importance, as such, the leadership will ensure proper engagements with the National Hajj Commission and relevant stakeholders for a fair deal for all concerned,” Ambursa said.
