The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will unveil the manifesto of its governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, on Friday, October 30, 2026.
Director General of the PBAT-KOH Campaign Council, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, announced this on Sunday at a press conference held at the campaign office on Sobo Arobiodu Street, GRA, Ikeja.
Obanikoro said the launch will hold at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, from 3pm to 5pm, with arrivals from 11am.
He said the event will provide the platform for Hamzat, popularly known as KOH, to present his vision, priorities and plans for the continued development of Lagos.
“The future of Lagos is too important to be left to chance because the decisions we make today will determine the opportunities available to our children, the strength of our economy, and the quality of life of millions of people who call this state home,” Obanikoro said.
He said the campaign is anchored on two principles: continued shared progress and inclusivity.
“Continued shared progress means working together to build a stronger Lagos on the foundation and master plan, creating more opportunities, and improving the lives of our people without break in continuity. Inclusivity means that nobody should be left behind because of religion, tribe, gender, social status, or place of origin,” he said.
Obanikoro said Lagos, with an estimated population of about 25 million people, faces serious demands in transportation, human capital development, housing, infrastructure, security, healthcare and environmental management, which require experienced leadership and careful planning.
He traced the development of the state from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tenure as governor through the administrations of Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode and incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying Hamzat will build on those foundations.
“Continuity is not about doing things the same way simply because they have been done before. It is about protecting what works, correcting what needs improvement and building on existing progress,” he said.
Obanikoro highlighted Hamzat’s credentials, noting that he earned a PhD in Systems Process Engineering from Cranfield University, England, at 28, worked with Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Citibank in the United States, and served as a three-time commissioner and deputy governor of Lagos State.
He also pointed to the achievements of the Sanwo-Olu administration, including the Blue and Red rail lines, hundreds of completed roads and bridges, improvements in schools and hospitals, housing projects and support for businesses and young people.
The campaign DG said the candidate and the campaign organisation have embarked on wide consultations with religious leaders, traditional rulers, market women, traders, young people, professionals, artisans and community leaders.
“Leadership must listen before it acts. We want the concerns of ordinary Lagosians to inform our priorities,” he said.
He said although the launch is strictly by invitation due to limited seats, proceedings will be broadcast live from 3pm to 5pm on Channels TV, ARISE TV, TVC, LTV, News Central, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
He added that after the presentation, the manifesto will be made available for download for members of the public to study and provide feedback through party channels.
“The message of this campaign is clear: Lagos, let us move forward together,” Obanikoro said.
