Protesters gathered at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja as early as 6am on Thursday in compliance with a court order which restricted their demonstration to the facility in the nation’s capital city.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory,(FCT) had on Wednesday issued an ex-parte order, restricting the #EndBadGovernance protesters to the National Stadium, otherwise known as the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

The protesters were seen chanting solidarity songs and holding placards with various inscriptions.

Heavily armed security operatives were also present at the facility.

However, there is an ongoing disagreement between the operatives of the FCT Police Command led by CP Ben Igwe and the protesters led by an Abuja-based lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, over the exact location of the protesters.

The CP insisted that the protest must take place in the mainbowl of the National Stadium while the protesters, who were gathered at the vicinity of the facility, maintained that the court order only asked them to gather at the National Stadium without mentioning a specific location.
