In a bid to foster unity and perseverance in the face of adversity, Jonathan Asake, the Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has called for resilience and service amid challenges.
Asake stated this when some members of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) gathered to celebrate one of their own who was promoted to the position of director.
During a reception held in Abuja at the weekend to celebrate the achievements of some SOKAPU members serving under the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), Asake said members must exhibit dedication and diligence in their duties.
Asake, who commended the indigenous people of Kaduna State for their selfless service in the pursuit of nation-building despite the daunting challenges they face, also expressed his condolences to the people of Chukun and Kajuru federal constituency for the loss of Mr Ekene Abubakar, the House of Representatives member representing the constituents.
Also speaking, the national president of the Middle Belt Forum, Dr Bitrus Pogu, who graced the occasion, commended SOKAPU and the people of Nigeria’s middle belt for their unwavering dedication to the country.
Among those honoured at the event was the director of finance and accounts at NYSC, Mr Akut B. D.
