Nigerians have been enjoined to be their brothers’ keepers in the face of current hardships occasioned by economic downturns.
Delivering his Good Friday message at CAC, Oluwasogo, Glorious Arena English Assembly, Osogbo, the Glorious District Superintendent, Pastor (Dr) Oluwatosin Awoyinka charged Nigerians to emulate Jesus Christ who surrendered his glory for the salvation of mankind.
Awoyinka who spoke on the theme, “Christ Burden Bearers,” charged Nigerians to identify with those that are in need to lift their burden and serve as succour in the face of lack adding that they don’t have to be self-sufficient to carry others’ burden.
The cleric who quoted from Mathew Chapter 27: 54-61 noted that Mary Magdalene, Mary, and Joseph Arimathea shared in the burden of Christ in his most critical period while even some of his close associates deserted him.
He called on Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper especially at this turbulent period so that their records of putting smiles on the faces of people might earn them stars in the great beyond.
His words, “What are you doing about the body of Christ? Are you closing your eyes at the needs of those you have capacity to help, are you exhibiting carefree attitude to the plight of others whom you would have saved from suicide? Repent today.”
Pastor Awoyinka noted that the names of characters mentioned in the Holy Bible remained indelible whether positively or negatively while God who owns all is coming to give reward to everyone according to his deeds whether good or bad.
