The Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has donated 20,000 bags of 10kg rice to the Taraba State government to cushion the effect of the ongoing hardship in Nigeria.
Handing over the rice to the officials of the state government in Jalingo, the state capital on Thursday, Dangote said the donation is in continuation of his 2025 national food intervention programme.
The foremost industrialist who was represented at the event by the Group Managing Director of Dangote Group, Mr. Bello Danmusa, directed that the foodstuff should be taken to the downtrodden at local government levels to achieve the aim of the donation.
“I am here to handover 20,000 bags of 10kg rice to Taraba State government under the directives of my boss, the CEO of Dangote Group.
“The donation is in continuation of his 2025 national food intervention program, the rice is to be distributed to the people of Taraba State across the 16 local government areas of the state, our aim is to cushion the effect of the ongoing hardship across Nigeria, it is our desire that the items get to the target beneficiaries.”
While receiving the rice, chairman of Taraba State special committee on palliatives, Hon. Sale Sa’ad pledged that the items will get to the target beneficiaries on time.
“This exemplifies compassion and humility of a person of Alhaji Aliko Dangote. It is indeed life-changing, we look forward for smooth relationship between Taraba State government and Dangote Group.
“I am assuring the Dangote Group and people of Taraba State of judicious distribution of the rice to alleviate the suffering of the people,” Sa’ad said.
